Using MagMed’s IR to prepare for an ultra marathon charity event
Remembrance Sunday has passed and Tuesday 11th November has marked the 90th anniversary of the end of the first world war.
This month we’re sharing some feedback from Simon Davies one of our customers who ran the gruelling Gobi Ultra Marathon this summer to help raise money for the injured war veteran charity “Help for Heroes”, below is a link to his charity page if you want to donate.
 Simon's experience was intense but ultimately hugely fulfilling - “The Gobi Challenge 2008 was held over 7 days in early July 2008 and is renowned as one of the World's toughest desert races where over the period of a week we covered 140 miles on foot while carrying all our own food & provisions. Training over the British autumn & winter for an endurance event, where temperatures would average over 40 degrees Celsius left me a little concerned that our preparation would be insufficient. This is when we decided to buy the IR sauna from MagMed.
Initially it was my intention to only use it leading up to the event to build up our heat tolerances and reduce our "heat shock". But once we got the Pro-fit 2 deluxe we discovered it became an awesome warm up tool, and a general chill out environment too. In reducing the heat shock, the cabin was wonderful and also helped us recover rapidly from the intense exercise.”
